DUET
He
-
Her skin is whiter than winter moon,
- Her eyes darker than midnight sky,
- Her hair more bright than moonlit water,
- Her voice more haunting than curlews cry.
- Her feet tread soft as a falling leaf,
- She moves as deft as squirrel in tree,
- She kisses as warm as summer sunshine,
- And O she is all the world to me.
She
- Brown is my love as the river is brown,
- His eyes are dark as the peat,
- His laugh is merry as birdsong,
- He whispers like wind in the wheat.
- Tall is my love as the poplar is tall,
- Supple as willow tree,
- His arms hold strong as ivy,
- And he is all the world to me.
